Syphan Strengthen Engineering Team with Strategic Appointment
1st March 2009 Skipton, UK – Syphan Technologies, the leader in high-performance network security technology, has appointed industry veteran Levon Pettrous-Terzaghian as VP of Engineering to support the company’s ambitious global expansion plans. Levon is a network product specialist with him over 20 years industry experience including the development of many successful, sector leading products in the high growth IT and communications industry.
Syphan specialises in the development of high-speed security technology designed to protect government and large-scale corporate networks from data leakage and the full range of cyber threats as well as enabling deployment of in-the-cloud security services at service providers. With backing from Yorkshire Forward and two investment funds, the company’s ground-breaking technology has been in development for nearly three years. Aimed at Internet service providers and large enterprises, Syphan’s first commercial products are due for global launch in April this year.
Levon will be in charge of a team of world-class hardware and software engineers working on the company’s network security appliance, the ITC220, which is the first of its kind designed specifically for the next generation of 10G networks used by many of the world’s leading corporations and service providers for internal and external communications.

Prior to joining Syphan Levon was VP of Development at Viewgate Networks, a venture-backed company developing telecom-grade service assurance software. Before that he was R&D Director for Madge Networks, a global leader in advanced, high speed network technology.
