Syphan Announce Industry First, True 10G, Integrated Threat Control Appliance
9th April 2009, Skipton UK – Syphan Technologies, a technology leader in high performance network security will unveil the world’s first true 10G network security appliance, the ITC220, at this year’s RSA Conference in San Francisco in April, closely followed by its European debut at the Infosecurity Show in London.
The Syphan ITC220 uses FPGA technology and the company’s patent-pending, multi-dimensional parallel processing techniques to deliver True 10G performance through the box with total IP inspection up to layer 7 without latency. Capable of supporting up to 50,000 field-upgradable inspection rules and over 500 virtualised customer profiles, the ITC220 is fully extensible and scalable to provide total protection against the full array of current and future attack vectors both for major enterprise deployments or as a cloud-based, security-as-a-service platform.
In addition to its sector leading performance levels, including a processing latency which is at least two orders of magnitude faster than current comparable technologies, the ITC220’s StealthTrapTM technology provides protection from the latest multi-staged “low and slow” application layer attacks that other technologies can fail to detect.
Using its own unique virtualization technology, each IT220 appliance is capable of supporting up to 500 individual customer security profiles or 1000 corporate VLANs whilst maintaining the integrity and guaranteeing data security for each client. Including an array of interface connections the ITC220 is capable of supporting an aggregated 40G/sec throughput and campus-wide clustering of up to four, stateful appliances for maximum resilience with true 10G performance.
The lightening performance speed of the ITC220 is powered by the appliance’s per flow, parallel processing functionality, which is capable of total packet inspection, up to layer 7 and beyond, in less than the inter-packet flow rate of 64 nano-seconds. Drawing on industry standard rules together with proprietary StealthTrapTM algorithms, the ITC220 combines IPS, DDoS and multi-layered firewall capability into a single appliance. The use of FPGA chip technology means that the ITC220 can be dynamically updated without performance penalties in response to new threats as they emerge, to help maximise the corporate investment.
The Syphan ITC220 is specifically aimed at the emerging Cloud-security sector and as the ideal solution for the high-performance data centre environment, where latency-sensitive applications such as VoIP and video-streaming are rapidly becoming the norm. The first MSP deployments of the technology in the US are expected in mid-2009 driven by the pressure for corporate cost savings in the current downturn and the increase in government regulations and business compliance responsibilities.
