Syphan CEO To Present At Cloud Expo Europe 09
6th May 2009, Skipton UK – Syphan CEO, Pravin Mirchandani has been included amongst the list of industry experts who have been invited to speak at this month’s Cloud Expo Europe at the Barbican in London.
A recognised thought leader on high-performance network security technology, Pravin will present a paper entitled “Cloud Security – Storm Prevention Measures” which will focus on the issues that enterprises should consider when migrating data services to the cloud as well as how to protect against complex cyber-threats in high-performance networking environments.
The concept of Cloud computing is widely predicted to become more mainstream over the next 3 to 5 years, particularly in the current economic climate where companies are looking to reduce costs and focus on their core business. However concerns over data security as well as the varying definitions of what is exactly meant by the 'Cloud' has led to a confused picture for many network managers and a stalling in the take-up of services.
The presentation aims to provide a better understanding of the central issues surrounding data protection and network performance in the cloud as well as a practical guide to helping companies transition to a cloud environment without compromising their network and data security.
"Businesses are right to carefully consider the wider security and performance implications of moving to a security-as-a-service model,” commented Mr Mirchandani. “However, advances in high-speed, deep-packet inspection technology means that many of the myths, responsible for any hesitancy to move into the cloud, have now been debunked. The aim of the presentation is to ensure that businesses have a balanced view of the pros and cons of a cloud-based security model in terms of how it applies to their own particular business requirements."
