Hardware Design and Implementation Engineer
Syphan is seeking a hardware design and implementation engineer for its Skipton or at another of its locations in the UK. Principal responsibilities will include:
- Full Lifecycle Development
- System Level Design Experience
- Requirements and Specification Capture
- Experience of cost efficient PCB design, future proofing, reliability and manufacturability
- Knowledge of Cadence of Mentor CAD packages
- Product Compliance/ Certification - EMC, UL, CE
- Knowledge of High speed Ethernet standards preferable (TCP, UDP,etc)
- Knowledge of Bus protocols (PCIe, MDIO, I2C)
- Understanding of latest FPGA technology
- Have a broad engineering discipline i.e. Systems; Hardware; Mechanical; Software;
- Ability to work with External Contractors
- Reporting weekly progress and continuously re-estimate outstanding activities
Hardware Validation Engineer
Syphan is seeking a hardware validation engineer for its Skipton or at another of its locations in the UK. Principal responsibilities will include:
- Working with Hardware, FPGA and Software engineers to test and Debug electronic circuits and systems
- Providing a DFT specification describing the test concept and specifying the Implementation
- Developing BIST and ATE-based testing concepts in conjunction with assembly facility
- Experience of cost efficient PCB design, future proofing, reliability and manufacturability
- Knowledge of Cadence of Mentor CAD packages
- Product Compliance/ Certification - EMC, UL, CE
- Knowledge of High speed Ethernet standards preferable (TCP, UDP,etc)

FPGA Design Architect
We are looking for a senior VHDL design architect and programmer with significant domain knowledge in telecoms and network protocols. Alongside extensive experience of designing and implementing systems for and across several large-scale FPGAs (Stratix III/IV experience preferred) we are looking for skills that include parallel programming techniques and use of high-speed memory controllers as well as telecoms domain experience. Network security knowledge would be a major plus but is not required.
Security Analyst, Skipton, North Yorkshire, UK
We are looking for a security analyst with C#/C++ programming skills, who should have extensive knowledge of current application protocols and their associated attack vectors, especially Web 2.0, SOAP, SIP. Knowledge of SNORT, Bro or another IDS would be a bonus.
Pre-Sales Engineer, Skipton, Manchester or Greater-London-based
The ideal candidate will have significant experience of supporting network security related products and service sales. A detailed knowledge of IDS/IPS/Firewall configuration and management and a CISSP or equivalent is a requirement. Knowledge of content monitoring & filtering configuration is a plus.
The job requires the ability to create and deliver presentations, project manage installations and evaluations and lead technology deployment discussions. Significant commercial awareness in order to assist sales managers convert initial interest into orders and deployed solutions is also a must.
This position requires a minimum of 5 years of pre-sales experience, 3 of which must have been in the IT security domain. German, French, or other language skills will be a valuable asset as the job involves significant international exposure. Depending on qualifications, it may be possible for a candidate to combine the security analyst and pre-sales roles.
Sales Manager, Skipton, Manchester or Greater-London-based
The principal objective of the Sales Manager role is driving the development of new business into large enterprise accounts and service providers in Europe. The Sales Manager will be the primary interface between the customer and Syphan, ensuring quality communications and responses to technical and business related needs and concerns from end-users and channel partners. This includes converting initial product interest into a well-managed sales delivery process including ensuring approvals at all levels of the customer organisation and monitoring contract processes to assure completion and acceptance of Syphan's solutions within a timely period.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience of selling network security related products and services into large account environments. Experience of selling into Telcos and service providers will be highly advantageous. Talented sales professionals that possess the relationships, advanced selling skills, and creativity necessary to be successful in an early stage company environment are desired.
